Cottingham has been home to an active and very successful football club in the past. Here are some pictures from over the years.
Mike Beadsworth (who is pictured front row third right on the 1953 photo above), says that this picture was most likely taken at the end of the 1952/53 season, while Cottingham FC was playing in the Market Harborough and District Football League. He says that, several years later, Cottingham FC moved to the Kettering and District Football League before joining the semi-professional United Counties Football League in the 1970s.
